Alcoholic beverages are restricted based on their alcohol content.
- Below 24%: Allowed in both carry-on and checked baggage.
- 24% or more but less than 70%: Allowed in checked baggage up to 5 L per person.
- 70% or more: Not allowed in carry-on or checked baggage.
However, if you plan to bring it as carry-on, please note that it will be subject to liquid, spray, and gel restrictions based on volume.
* Liquid, Spray, and Gel Regulations: For carry-on, individual containers must be 100 ml or less (based on container size, regardless of content volume), and you can bring one 1 L transparent ziplock bag per person. -
[Food and Liquids] Can I bring liquid, spray, or gel-type hygiene and bathroom products on board?
For all international flights departing from Incheon International Airport, carry-on of liquid, spray, and gel products is restricted based on volume.
To bring liquid, spray, or gel products on board, each container must be 100 ml or less (based on container size, regardless of content volume), and they must be placed in a transparent ziplock bag (20 cm x 20 cm), with a limit of one ziplock bag per person.
[Examples of products to be aware of for carry-on]
- Liquids: Kimchi, alcohol, bottled water, beverages, juice, perfume, skin toner, lotion, etc.
- Sprays: Hair spray, oxygen spray, body insect repellent spray, etc.
- Gels: Shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, hair gel, sunscreen, lip gloss, gochujang (red chili paste), doenjang (soybean paste), etc.
* You are allowed to bring solid side dishes on board (e.g., dried squid, dried anchovies, etc.)

If you have not prepared in advance, you can purchase a ziplock bag at the central convenience store on the 3rd floor of the passenger terminal or at a bookstore in the airport.
[Milk and baby food for young children]
Passengers traveling with children (under 6 years old) are allowed to carry items for the child (milk, water, juice, liquid gel, porridge-type food, wet wipes, etc.) on board, limited to the amount needed during the flight. -
[Food and Liquids] Inquiry on bringing herbal medicine, red ginseng, and health supplements on board
Foods, including herbal medicine, red ginseng, and health supplements, in solid form (including pills and powders) can be carried in both checked and carry-on baggage, but the allowable quantities may vary by airline, so please check with your airline.
Special dietary foods (those necessary for the passenger’s health with a doctor’s prescription) are allowed only in quantities appropriate for air travel, and carry-on is permitted only if the security officer deems it appropriate after reviewing the doctor’s note and prescription. -
[Food and Liquids] Can I bring medicines (pills, liquid medicines, dialysis patients’ equipment, metal implants, syringes, etc.) on board?
Syringes, needles, and other medical items (tools) can be brought in both carry-on and checked baggage.
If you are bringing liquid medicines exceeding 100 ml (such as insulin) on board, you must carry a doctor’s note or prescription (in Korean or English).

You can only bring the amount of liquid medicine needed for use on the flight as carry-on; any extra liquid medicines (such as insulin) must be checked in, so please be aware of this.
If you do not have a prescription, you can only bring liquids and gels on board if they are 100 ml or less (based on container size, regardless of the remaining content), according to liquid and gel carry-on restrictions.
Some items may only be allowed if they are in protective cases, and hazardous items may be restricted from being brought on board.
Implanted electronic medical devices, metal implants, and similar items do not pose a problem during security screening, but a detailed inspection may be conducted in a separate location based on the security officer’s discretion.
Passengers with implanted pacemakers will have their pacemaker identification card inspected and may be screened in a separate location. -
[Food and Liquids] Can I bring ice packs or coolers on board?
Ice packs are restricted based on volume according to liquid, spray, and gel regulations, but coolers that do not contain liquids are allowed on board as carry-on or checked baggage.
* Liquid, Spray, and Gel Regulations: For carry-on, individual containers must be 100 ml or less (based on container size, regardless of the remaining content), and you can bring one 1 L transparent ziplock bag per person. For checked baggage, there is no volume limit.
However, dry ice requires airline approval to be brought on board, so please check with your airline. -
[Hazardous Items] Can I bring a hiking stick on board?
Hiking sticks are allowed on board, but if the tip is sharp, they may be restricted from carry-on, so it is recommended to check them in as baggage.
However, mountain hammers are prohibited as carry-on but can be checked in as baggage. -
[Hazardous Items] Can I bring a knife on board?
Knives are classified as hazardous items and are not allowed on board as carry-on, regardless of blade length, but they can be checked in as baggage.

Tools are classified as hazardous items and are not allowed on board as carry-on, but they can only be checked in as baggage.

[Hazardous Materials] Where should I inquire about bringing hazardous materials, such as toxic substances, on board?
Flammable, chemical, and toxic substances are generally prohibited from being brought on board as either carry-on or checked baggage.
However, if the materials meet the safety requirements set by the “Aviation Hazardous Materials Transport Standards” and you present the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) required by the Occupational Safety and Health Act to the airline, they may be deemed safe and allowed in checked baggage.
Please consult your airline for the relevant procedures. -
[Hazardous Materials] Can I bring sprays (flammable hygiene products, insecticides, etc.) on board?
Personal hygiene sprays (such as hair spray, oxygen spray, body insect repellent) are allowed as carry-on if they are 100 ml or less (based on container size, regardless of content volume) and placed in a 1 L transparent ziplock bag, with a limit of one bag per person. For checked baggage, they are allowed up to 2 kg (2 L) with a limit of 500 ml per item (based on container size, regardless of content volume).
Self-defense sprays are prohibited as carry-on but are allowed in checked baggage if they are 100 ml or less (based on container size, regardless of content volume) with a limit of one per person.
Flammable insecticides (such as F-Killer) are not allowed in either carry-on or checked baggage.

[Hazardous Materials] Can I bring batteries (lithium-ion batteries, nickel-cadmium batteries, etc.) on board?
Alkaline batteries are allowed on board as either carry-on or checked baggage, but lithium batteries are subject to restrictions based on their capacity.
- 0 Wh–100 Wh: Allowed, but the number of batteries permitted may vary by airline.
- 100 Wh–160 Wh: With airline approval, up to 2 batteries per person can be brought on board as carry-on.
- Exceeding 160 Wh: Not allowed
* The rules for carrying batteries may vary slightly depending on the airline and destination, so please check with your airline for further details.
Lithium batteries installed in electronic devices can only be carried if they are 160 Wh or less.
However, wet-cell batteries (batteries containing liquid electrolyte) require airline approval to be transported on the aircraft. -
[Electronics] Can I bring a frying pan, pot, or electric rice cooker on board?
Frying pans, pots, and electric rice cookers can be brought on board.
However, the regulations may vary depending on the airline and destination, so please check with your airline regarding the carry-on size limits. -
[Electronics] Can I bring an electronic cigarette on board?
Electronic cigarettes are only allowed as carry-on and cannot be checked in.

[Electronics] Can I bring a computer or tablet on board?
Computers (desktop or laptop), tablets, and other electronic devices that do not pose a safety risk to the aircraft can be carried on or checked in.
When carrying electronic devices, please separate them and place them in a tray during security screening to facilitate a faster process. -
[Miscellaneous] Can I bring a camera tripod or selfie stick on board?
Selfie sticks and camera tripods can be brought on board, but if the ends are sharp, they may be restricted from carry-on. It is recommended to check them in as baggage.

[Miscellaneous] Can I bring live animals, plants, or fruits on board?
Live animals and plants require documentation proving their transportation purpose and the identity of the transporter. If there is no consent documentation from the airline, they will not be allowed through the security checkpoint.
For animals, they are not placed on the X-ray conveyor; instead, they are removed from their cage, and both the animal and cage undergo a detailed inspection (such as a physical search).
Species and products protected under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) are also restricted from being brought on board.

[Miscellaneous] Can I bring foreign currency, expensive items, or multiple mobile phones on board?
When you depart, amounts exceeding USD 10,000 must be declared to customs, and you must obtain a Foreign Exchange Transaction Report confirmation. or expensive items (valued over USD 600), you need to fill out a declaration form for carrying them out at the customs declaration desk. Multiple mobile phones must also be cleared by customs.

[Miscellaneous] Can I bring ashes or cremated remains on board?
Ashes and remains that are at risk of damage during X-ray screening should be accompanied by documentation (such as a cremation certificate or death certificate) and verified by security personnel.
Please check with your airline in advance regarding whether you can bring these on board. -
[Miscellaneous] Do I have to pass through the security checkpoint if I’m pregnant?
Walk-through metal detectors do not harm the human body, but if you prefer not to pass through them, you can request a manual search in a separate location as directed by the security officer.

[Miscellaneous] Can I retrieve items that I forfeited at the security screening zone?
If you have forfeited items that were prohibited for carry-on under security regulations, you cannot reclaim them.
Please keep this in mind and make sure to check the list of prohibited carry-on items before going through security when you depart.
