Navigation Safety System : 190,000 Hours of Uninterrupted, Accident-Free Performance for Over 21 Years
The Navigation Safety System provides crucial navigational information to ensure the safe transit of aircraft to their destinations. This system comprises: 1. Instrument landing facilities that use radio signals to guide aircraft during landings. 2. Aeronautical communication infrastructure for wireless voice and data transmission between aircraft and ground equipment. 3. Radar installations designed for detecting aircraft locations and assisting in air traffic control. 4. Aeronautical lighting systems that highlight and guide using lights on runways and taxiways.
Incheon International Airport currently operates 50 different navigation safety systems. Since its launch on March 29, 2001, the airport has delivered consistent navigation safety services over 190,000 hours without any safety incidents.
