Maintaining the best quality of perishables through
Cool Cargo Center (CCC) in the airside
In September 2021, Incheon International Airport has opened the Cool Cargo Center, Asia's first perishable cargo transshipment warehouse in the airside, in response to over 20% annual growth of perishable cargo.
The opening of the CCC is a timely response to recent changes in the air cargo trends. It has paved a new path by developing a cold chain base to handle temperature-sensitive cargo, such as pharmaceutical and perishable cargo. The CCC will deal with various perishable cargo such as easily spoiled foods and plants. This will reduce transshipment time and maintain their best quality.
Furthermore, the airport plans to standardize air cargo transportation by obtaining international certification for handling perishable cargo and building a terminal dedicated to cold chain cargo.
