Description
1. Joseon Royal Bojagi (Wrapping Cloths)
- Vivid colors and depictions of Joseon royal bojagi (wrapping cloths) and its texture reproduced in 3D demonstrate the aesthetics and artistry unique to the royal court of the Joseon dynasty. (Running time: 4' 15")
2. Digital Mother-of-pearl Lacquerware
- The works of national intangible cultural heritage—Lee Hyeong-man (Najeonjang artisan of mother-of-pearl inlaying) and Jeong Su-hwa (Chiljang artisan of lacquerware-making)—as well as those of Seoul intangible cultural heritage—Sohn Dae-hyun (Najeonjang artisan)—are filmed at a high resolution, and every piece of design is reproduced as if it has come to life. Stark black-and-white contrast and brilliant reflection of light of lacquerware inlaid with mother-of-pearl, which has been impossible to be fully expressed, are digitalized for the first time. (Running time: 4' 2")
3. Traditional Dance
- The dynamic moves of Korean traditional dance, such as seungmu (dance performed by Buddhist monks), taepyeongmu (dance wishing a great peace for the country), and ganggangsullae (dance wishing to bring about a bountiful harvest), have been reproduced close to the actual size. For colorful production, it was shot at a large studio and features the Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation's Performing Arts Company. (Running time: 4')
4. Digital Haerye
- Digital Haerye expressed in Hangeul emphasizes not only the function as a written and spoken language, but also formativeness and aesthetics that Hangeul consonants and vowels possess, and it is made to enable intuitive recognition even for foreigners who are not familiar with Hangeul.
* This media wall was created in collaboration with the Cultural Heritage Administration, National Palace Museum of Korea, and the Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation to promote the excellence of Korea's traditional culture.
