Just like the hot weather, Incheon Airport has had a busy month filled with various updates.

✅ Campaign for the Paris Paralympic Team



Do you remember the displayed banners to support the national team of the Paris Olympics at Incheon Airport in July?

This campaign had received positive feedback not only from the athletes but from passengers visiting Incheon Airport.
Moreover, it was also covered in various news articles with a compliment. 

In August, Incheon Airport has continued its support campaign with a large banner.
For this time, it is for the national team participating in the 2024 Paris Paralympics!

A large banner, featuring photos of the athletes and encouraging messages, has been displayed at Terminal 2 of Incheon Airport.
 
It will be posted in the departure hall until the 10th of September. 😁👍


Named Preferred Negotiation Partner for Vietnam’s New Airport Project
 


 
On August 8, Incheon International Airport Corporation announced that it was named as the preferred negotiation partner
for the Long Thanh International Airport Operation Consulting Project in Vietnam! 🎉

Long Thanh International Airport is a national project worth 18.3 trillion KRW, expected to serve as a new gateway to replace Tan Son Nhat Airport in Ho Chi Minh. 

Incheon Airport, in collaboration with its Vietnamese partner PMI, had achieved high scores in technical and pricing evaluations by forming a consortium. 
Moreover, the global airport service expertise and various overseas project experiences, that Incheon Airport has built up, hav been highly valued. 👍
 
If it is successful, Incheon Airport will support the planning of airport operations, commercial strategy development, and trial consulting for the next 24 months. 
For this project, Incheon Airport will also involve a contract worth approximately 11 billion KRW.
 
We believe that this is such a proud achievement of Incheon Airport! 😊


Expanded Night Bus Services to Seoul
 


From August 12, the night airport buses 🚍, which connect Incheon Airport and Seoul, will have expanded schedules!
 
To improve transportation convenience for late-night travelers, two major routes (N6701, N6703) will add three more trips each.
As a result, the total 46 night airport buses will operate between Incheon Airport and Seoul daily. 

Furthermore, N6701 (Dongdaemun Design Plaza) and N6703 (Jamsil Lotte World) routes, previously running six times per day, will increase to nine from the 12th.
 
Night buses can be booked through the ‘T-moneygo’ app, while other routes can be also purchased on-site or via transportation cards or cash.


✅ Cooperation Agreement with Hyundai Motor for Digital Transformation
 


Incheon International Airport Corporation has partnered with Hyundai Motor to pursue digital transformation and future mobility innovations!
On August 6, Incheon Airport and Hyundai Motor signed a business agreement for Digital Transformation and Future Mobility Innovation.
 
Through this agreement, they will strengthen cooperation in various fields, including eco-friendly mobility, autonomous driving, AAM, and robotics.
Incheon Airport plans to transit logistics forklifts and operational vehicles to hydrogen and electric vehicles and to expand the existing hydrogen charging stations.
 
Additionally, Hyundai Motor's robotic technology will be introduced into logistics, security, and passenger services to enhance operational efficiency,
while autonomous shuttle buses and AAM infrastructure will further improve passenger convenience.


✅ Kiaf Special Exhibition and Seo-bo Park Retrospective



 
A special exhibition, showcasing the beauty of Korean contemporary art, will be held at Incheon Airport!

Until September 22, the 2024 Korea International Art Fair (Kiaf) Special Exhibition will take place at the Transportation Center of Incheon Airport Terminal 1.
This exhibition will feature approximately 73 works from leading galleries and artists in South Korea.

This year is the fourth time to hold this exhibition in collaboration with the Korea Gallery Association.
There will be a retrospective on the 70-year career of the late master artist Seo-bo Park as well, "70 Years of Park Seo-bo: A Journey of Reflection and Challenge".
 
Admission to the exhibition is free, and various programs - guided tours, pen drawing art classes, and art tours - will be offered in conjunction with 'Cultural Arts Week'.
The docent will be held four times a day (11:00, 12:30, 14:00, 16:00), so please do not miss this opportunity! 😉


✅ Exhibition at Terminal 1, "The Instinct of an Individual" 
  

 

A special public art exhibition is being held at Incheon Airport!
 
In cooperation with the Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation,
the exhibition “The Instinct of an Individual” by artist Shin-ah Kim will be held for free at Korean Culture Street on the 4th floor of Terminal 1 until October 26.

This exhibition is the third in the "Artist’s Room" project, which previously featured successful exhibitions like "Royal Banquet" and "Clouds Spectrum'.
For this reaosn, the exhibition “The Instinct of an Individual” has been also highly anticipated by the public. 
 
If you visit Incheon Airport, be sure to enjoy the "Instinct of an Individual" exhibition.


✅ Emergency Runway Recovery Training for Trash-laden Balloon
 


On the afternoon of the 21st August, an emergency runway recovery drill was conducted at Incheon Airport.
 
About 100 people from related agencies including Incheon International Airport Corporation and the Seoul Regional Aviation Administration participated in the training,
with around 30 special recovery vehicles deployed to make the situnation more realistic.

This training simulated a situation, where the runway was damaged by North Korea's trash-laden balloon that has recently been a topic of social discussion.
 
It helped reviewing crisis response system of Incheon Airport and strengthened its crisis management capabilities through real-life experience.
