Airport Industry Technology Research Institute(AITRI) began its journey as a research department within Incheon International Airport Corporation in 2010 and was promoted to a research institute in 2015 to ensure safe, convenient and efficient airport operation through aviation technology research as well as airport management and policy research.

We participated in various national R&D projects such as BHS core parts localization, FOD automatic detection system development, AC-GPS localization, and PC-AIR localization. Moreover, we are currently carrying out our own R&D projects that will lead future airport technologies such as FIDS localization development, airport packaging design method development, and standard air calculation system research. Apart from our researches, we are actively promoting the commercialization of research products such as aviation lighting, high-pressure shielded cable connectors, A-VDGS localization development products, and 6 different BHS parts.

Since 2015, we have established an airport management/policy research team to expand our research foundation in the areas of airport operations. We will continue to strengthen the core capabilities of airport operation in order for Incheon Airport to become a global hub airport. In the years to come, we plan to support Incheon Airport’s stakeholders in making the best possible strategic management decisions and contribute to the development of the Korean aviation industry at the same time.
